Post how to split NRPN value between MSB and LSB.
Hi,

I've recently picked up a DSI Tetra.. (yes I also have posted about the evolver)

I'm trying to setup NRPN controllers to use the Bitstream 3x as a programming interface (as opposed to using software)... especially for the sequencer - to get that modular analog sequencer feel ...

I'm close .. very close.. but not close enough.

For a parameter the Tetra sends the following (MIDI OX terminal output)

0005887A 3 -- B8 63 00 9 --- CC: NRPN MSB
0005887A 3 -- B8 62 78 9 --- CC: NRPN LSB
0005887C 3 -- B8 06 00 9 --- CC: Data Entry MSB
0005887D 3 -- B8 26 1F 9 --- CC: Data Entry LSB

From this I worked out the MIDI string of B86300B86278B80600

I guessed that the values are sent in value 3 and 9 as these appear to be the data bytes.

but when I do the MIDI ox on that it appears the BS3x is sending the following

00098F87 2 -- B8 63 00 9 --- CC: NRPN MSB
00098F88 2 -- B8 62 78 9 --- CC: NRPN LSB
00098F88 2 -- B8 06 00 9 --- CC: Data Entry MSB

In other words the data is sending all on the MSB and not the MSB and LSB combined..

I do have the "send value as 2 nibbles" box checked.

Can anyone help here?

cheers

Allan

Okay .. I worked out this problem..

My string needed to be the following ..

B86300B86278B80600B82600

With the Control Value 1 at position 12 .. and v2 at 0 with the "send value as 2 nibbles" check box unchecked...

my next question will be regarding 14 bit NRPN's with value ranges greater than 128 (up to 16384)

cheers
